Stock Footage: Who Owns the Rights to the Generated Videos?

Users own videos created with Visla, but must comply with online platforms terms for sharing, especially regarding copyrighted content.

Updated over a week ago

As the creator and initiator of the generated videos, you retain full ownership of the final output. This means you have the liberty to publish and distribute these videos across any platform of your choice, whether for personal use, commercial purposes, or distribution on social media and other channels.

Use of Paid Stock Footage and Music

It is important to note, however, that if your video includes paid* stock footage or music, the ownership of these individual elements remains with the original content providers.

Although you own the overall video, the embedded stock elements are governed by separate licensing terms.

For detailed information on the usage rights and restrictions of these paid elements, please refer to our Clarification on Onwership and Distribution Rights for Videos with Stock Footage and User-Uploaded Section Content section.

By understanding and respecting these ownership and licensing distinctions, you can effectively manage your video content while adhering to legal standards.

*Paid Stock includes any Storyblocks content that is found on Pro Plan and higher, and any Getty Images content found on Business Plan and higher.
