Create a Video Using AI Director Mode

How to Create a Video Using AI Director Mode

Step 1: Start a New Project

  1. From your Visla dashboard, click Create Video

  2. Select AI Director Mode

  3. Add your starting input, such as:

    • Script or idea text

    • PDF or presentation

    • Webpage URL

    • Audio or footage

    • Images

Step 2: Set Project Basics

Choose your project settings:

  • Video duration

  • Aspect ratio

  • Pace and tone

  • Voiceover style and language (if applicable)

  • Whether to include an AI Avatar

These settings apply across the entire video.

Step 3: Choose a Visual Style

Select a visual style that defines the overall look of your video, such as:

  • Photorealistic

  • Cinematic

  • 3D render

  • Infographic

  • Flat vector

  • Social or UGC style

  • Stylized or cartoon

This style is used consistently across all scenes.

Step 4: Add Characters

Add characters that appear in your video:

  • Generate characters with AI or upload images

  • Assign each character a name, role, and description

Characters help maintain visual continuity across scenes.

Step 5: Add Objects

Add important objects such as:

  • Products

  • Logos

  • Screenshots

  • Props

For each object, define:

  • Name

  • Type

  • Description

Objects can be reused across multiple scenes for consistency.

Step 6: Choose Environments

Define the environments or settings for your scenes:

  • Office

  • Studio

  • Outdoor location

  • Abstract or branded background

Each environment includes a name and description to guide scene generation.

Step 7: Review the Storyboard

Visla generates a storyboard made up of images for each scene.

Before generating video:

  • Review scene order and flow

  • Edit text or descriptions

  • Rearrange or remove scenes as needed

No credits are used at this stage.

Step 8: Generate AI Video Clips

Once the storyboard looks right, choose how to animate it:

  • Generate all scenes at once

  • Or animate scenes individually

Animating scenes is when credits are consumed.

Best Practices

  • Review and finalize your storyboard before generating video

  • Reuse characters and objects to maintain continuity

  • Keep environments consistent unless the story requires a change

  • Generate scenes individually if you want tighter control over pacing and cost

Tip: You can animate only key scenes (such as the hook or CTA) to reduce credit usage.
