Annotations in Screen Recording

Using annotations when doing a screen recording with Visla to enhance presentations.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Overview

Annotations enhance video clarity by highlighting key points, guiding focus, and improving comprehension. They provide visual cues, reinforce important details, and boost engagement, making content more accessible and memorable.

What can you do with annotations?

  • Draw, highlight, and add shapes (arrows, rectangles, circles, and lines) to focus attention where it matters most.

  • Personalize your annotations with custom colors from your branding kit, pen thickness, and font size.

  • Adjust cursor click highlights to emphasize your actions during recordings.

How to use screen recording annotations and graphics:

  1. Download the Visla app if you haven’t already.

  2. Click on the Screen Recording button.

  3. Open the More menu (three dots) and select Recording Tool Settings to customize your colors, thickness, and font size.

  4. Hit the red Start button and bring your ideas to life.

  5. Use the left sidebar during your recording to add annotations in real time
